Carth wandered the streets of Manhattan, searching for Ajora. Dammit...he thought back to his meeting with his fellow hunter and growled. "That idiot Jens..." And Ajora had helped him escape. After he had killed people without mercy. He had to stop this now, while he could, before Grosvenor decided that she had to die.
"AJORA!" he called out, waiting.

"What?" she asked. Completely focusing on his far sight, Carth did not notice her concealed right beside him. "Funny how the second we met, you've been non-stop in my life. I find it funny, anyways" she smiled.

He spun quickly, grabbing her shoulders and pushing her into the nearest wall with force, growling. "You're an idiot."

Her eyes widened. "Some would say. What did i do this time?" His scent began to flood her nose. It was mildly intoxicating.

"You helped that idiot get away, after he murdered those innocents for no reason. And if not for me, there would be hunters after you right now." he sighed and let go, frowning. "How the hell do you survive when I'm not here?" He grabbed her into a fierce hug, burying his face into her shoulder. Just the thought of someone hunting her was enough to make his blood boil.

"He did what?" she asked dumbly. "I had no idea. I heard conflict, and his voice. When i saw a hunter attacking him, that's all that mattered. I took no thought upon the humans there." She gripped him back. Her defenses were crumbling.

"Either I or Grosvenor are going to have to kill him now, you know that?" He mumbled this into her shoulder, still holding her semi-tightly. He was only glad that she didnt know what had happened.

"I...FUCK" she shouted. "This is why i don't let people get close Carth. This is why! I let him get a little friendly with me, and now look. He's got a death sentence on his head" she whimpered.

Carth frowned and tilted her chin up lightly to stare into her eyes. "It is your poor judgement of character, mon petite verite, that leads you to these kind of things. You try and make friends too quickly, before you really know who they are." He sighed and looked down. He couldnt bear to hurt her. "I will not kill him. But Grosvenor will have no restraints about killing him."

"We all must do what we must do. If destroying him falls under there....I understand...." She looked into his eyes. "Damnit, why does he care for me so much" she thought. "And as for my poor judge of character....I think that's what happens when 4 centuries of loneliness takes it's toll" she joked.

He nodded, giving a small smile. "If you say so. Just...don't do anything stupid." He ran a hand through his long hair, sighing.

"Oh, but you have me all wrong" she points out. "I attract it to me. I'm not stupid at all." She gives us. Her mental defenses have been stripped in minutes. "If something happens to you cause you're getting too close, let it be known i said i told you so." She rests her head on his chest. She wanted to take the risk.

"You know nothing ever happens to you when I'm around." He whispered softly, putting a hand on her head and stroking her hair lightly, his other arm wrapping around her.

"Thank you" she smiles. "I have to go now.....but you'll see me soon." She watched the the smile on his face crack a small bit. "Promise."

"I believe you." He let go and watched as she left, smiling a bit to himself.
