Hecate was looking out of the window and street lamps flickered to life in the late dusk. The sun was nothing more then a few rays of orange on the horizon. It was time to go exploring, and Hecate could use some entertainment, she hadn't gone out for a while.
"I wonder what has been going on lately.."
She was ready to go, her red dress the color of the blood she craved, the wing-like cape made from the fur lining of her dress created a quiet whoosh as she turned and headed for the door, out into the night.

Ian headed out to work, even though it was almost 8 at night. The graveyard shift paid more, and many of the hardcore baseball fans made their way to his bar at around this time. It was sure to be a busy night, as it always was, so he took his time getting there. The bustle of New York seemed unending, and he enjoyed the constant noise of the city, kept the feeling of being alone away.
As he strolled on, his eyes caught sight of a woman in a dark red dress up ahead of him. He wouldn't have given it a second thought were it not for the fact that this was the wrong sort of neighborhood for women of that type. She was far to well dressed, and it wouldn't take long for someone with more than just a passing thought to take note of the fact she was alone.
But what did he care? He was on his way to work, and she was just going the same way as he.

Hecate noticed the young man walking down the street. She wondered if perhaps he would make a nice little plaything for the evening. She wandered closer, pretending not to care, a small smile on her face, her yellow eyes emitting a barely noticeable glow.

As he turned a corner, Ian noticed that Ms. Red Dress was getting a bit closer. The first thought that came to mind was hooker. It made sense to him; late in the evening, fancy dress. Perfect time to make a quick buck. He wasn't interested in fast love at the moment, and the closer she got, the more convinced of his prostitute theory he was. After he passed another block, he finally turned around to face his would-be stalker.
"Look lady, whatever you've got in your head, forget it. I'm not interested in any one night stands tonight."
He was short and to the point, and although he meant no offense, his voice still came off as annoyed and presumptuous.

Hecate was angered by this arrogant boy, she looked at him once, she look a liking to the child, cocky as he was.
"Boy, I've I was looking for romance, you would be the last person I'd go after. The stoic type aren't weak-minded, they don't have soft clay for brains."
She glared at him through glowing eyes, insulted that he thought she was a prostitute.

He gave a clever smirk and continued on his way to work. His opinion softened a little, he liked the quick witted women "Pretty words will get you everywhere ma'am. Such a shame I'm not your type, hopefully you'll find someone dense enough for you to have fun with."
As he continued on, he thought more about this eccentric woman who continued to follow him. He hadn't given much thought to it, but the more he thought about it, the more he swore that her eyes had been glowing. Logic of course, dictated that was impossible, but he still couldn't shake that thought out. He was either too nervous or too smart to look back again, so he kept on walking. However he unconsciously tensed up, that thought of glowing eyes made him...uncomfortable

Hecate continued following, a dark smile on her lips, she could tell he was getting tense. She could smell a sense of worry about him.
"What's wrong, Boy? Something troubling you? work? Love life?"
Hecate smiled a little more, knowing full well why he was tense.

As she spoke, he became aware of just how braced he was. His shoulders were tight, muscles flexing. The realization of his situation began to dawn on him, and he began to deepen his breathing. Whoever Ms.Red Dress was, she was trouble, and he didn't like it. Putting on a charming smirk, he faced her again, looking directly into those bright yellow eyes.
"I do believe my problem now....is you"
He stood completely still, hands dived in his pockets. His stance showed nothing of what he knew, and wouldn't dare throw the first punch until he thought it necessary. Her smile was that of a snake, and it sent a chill down his spine, which widened his smile a little more.

Hecate's smile widened and she put a hand on her hip.
"Really now? I'm your problem? Well, I can solve that easily...hehehe."
Her words were like knives, dripping with hidden malice. She wanted this child to know just how dangerous she could be.

His grinned widened. Ian was going to be late to work. She thought she was tough shit, well then, they had something in common. He didn't dare underestimate her, those glowing eyes hid something more than vicious words
"Be my guest, make the first move"
Instantly his mindset changed. He focused intensely on her, taking in every movement she would make. He was ready for a fight, and he hoped he would get one.

Hecate's grin went from malice to a stare of apathy.
"I'm a lover, not a fighter, one of the few things that make me a Daeva...I rarely fight, I prefer to talk."
Hecate continued walking in the direction the man was going. A pair of knives hidden within her dress should this man decide to make the first move himself.

Ian gave a sigh, he was so ready to start a fight, but if she had no true intention of fighting, what would be the point? He walked on, drawing closer to the little sports bar he worked at. He ran the word 'Daeva' through his head, and couldn't make heads nor tails of it. He calmed himself and brought back his usual charm, at least, that's what he fancied it as.
"A daeva huh? What exactly is a daeva, got something to do with those tricked out eyes?"

Hecate continued her walking, moving at a slow, leisurely pace.
"Yes, it does, but it's something I doubt you could comprehend, much less believe."
Hecate looked up and the sky, the moon was nowhere in sight, hidden behind the clouds. Darkness, oh how she loved the darkness.

He paused for a minute, wondering if she was beeing serious or if she just had some special contact lenses. He had made a wrong turn, and now he was farther away than he had hoped to be. New York streets all looked the same to him, perfectly symmetrical streets and nearly identical sidewalks never made it easy for him. It would take him awhile before he would truly memorize the way to work, much less all of Brooklyn.
"Some people just dont have any faith. I may only be 19 but I think I'm well justified in saying 'Try me'

Hecate smiled a little more. Nineteen? Hehe...he was young, extremely so. He had barely walked on this Earth for a decade or two.
Hecate sighed, wondering whether she ought to tell this kid what she truly was. The other vampires wouldn't be happy about this....but then again...she WAS a rouge.
"You really want to know, child? Hehe, I'm more then 1000 years old, try to comprehend THAT"
Hecate trotted through the streets, she didn't care whether the boy believed her or not.
