It was a warm night in Queens.
Ajora was now running double duty, watching over Mehket and Ventrue territory. Casually wandering around, observing the humans, she smells something that is not human.
"Laguna!" she cries.
She had not seen this happy fellow since they bumped into him at the clan quarters of Mehket. Giggling to herself, she waited for Laguna to approach her.

Laguna isn't his usual happy self, everywhere he went a fight breaks out or someone decides to antagonize him, either because he is scary or threatening, or that he is young by vampire standards. He sees a rock in front of his path and kicks it hard, sending it flying.
"Maybe I need to start using a different weapon, something more concealable, that would help. Maybe I should have a name change too...Laguna...Laguna...sounds..too weird, exotic...hmmm"
Laguna continues muttering to himself, not paying attention to the scent of the Ventrue Second in Command, Ajora.

She called his name....Was he okay? "Laguna!" she called again. Nothing.
She raced in the direction of the scent. Finding the figure looking somewhat unhappy, and lonely. Walking towards him, she lowers her hood. For once, she lets people see her whole face, her flowing hair. "Laguna? Is everything alright?"

Lagina sees Ajora running towards him, he isn't in the mood to put on an act and fool her into thinking he's fine. He tries to fake a smile, his eyes still radiating sadness.
"Hi, Ajora...It's good you see you again."

She stops very close to him. Obvious sadness was obvious.
"What does a young one like yourself have to be sad about? Is everything okay Laguna?" she asked, sincerely.
He looked very different when he was upset. His boyish, dopey grin faded, and the man in him came out. He was very different.

Laguna looks at her, his eyes are a dark glare, sadness becomes malice. His false smile becomes a grin filled with malevolent joy "Nope, nothing's alright, but I'll be better, in a minute...."
He walks past a random passerby and quickly pushes them into an alleyway, taking out his scythe and with a twisted grin, approaches the dazed man.

Ajora's eyes go wide. Something was seriously wrong with him...But she couldn't let this happen, this wasn't a good idea. She bolted towards him, trying to get herself in between the man and the scythe.

Laguna moves too quickly, dealing a quick uppercut, slicing the man vertically and following up with a spin of his scythe. Then he quickly beheads the man before he could even scream, blood spraying into the air as the man's body falls to the ground limp. "there. Now I feel much better. ehehehe." Laguna chuckles and licks the blood off his scythe, his former happiness and energy returning.

Ajora stood, covered in blood spatter, only dodging the scythe by seconds. She looked up at Laguna. Part of her thought he was simply insane. But that wasn't important right now. She wasn't sure what was wrong with him, but she was determined to help. Grabbing his wrist, she lead him several blocks away from what would soon be a crime scene. Once they were in another secluded place, she rounded on him and gave him a very large hug. "What the hell is wrong?" she asked, quietly.

Laguna looked at her and laughed. He then slammed his scythe blade halfway into the ground and placed his foot on to the protruding shaft,
"Too many things, Ajora, ever since I got here I've had to deal with shit storm after shit storm, Mitsuharu attack me because I have a weird weapon. I try to talk to Lulu and a fight breaks out because of some girl showing up, I can't even listen to some piano music because the kid playing has this power to cause pain to Mehkats when he plays! I'M SICK OF THIS!"
Laguna was half laughing the whole time, as if it was all his little joke. He was beginning to wonder if he had a screw loose or something.

"Laguna..." She hugged him tighter. New York was a rough place.
"New York is by no means a friendly place. But you have found friends here, Laguna...Have you not?" she smiled. "It can't be all bad."

Laguna pushed her off off him, more willing to remain untouched.
"About forty years ago, when I was in Germany, I helped this man kill off his entire family so he could go marry a younger and richer woman. I saw his son, probably just barely twenty, dying at my feet. I decided to turn him, he wasn't much older then I was when I was turned. I don't know if he survived or not. But that doesn't matter....." Laguna paused to take a breath. " The point is that over the 70 or so years I was traveling the world, I saw humanity's worst....and I came here hoping I would be able to find and talk to SOMEONE like me....but no, something always happens, something always goes wrong.
Laguna's smile had become a scowl. His long, black hair hanging around his face. "I'm beginning to wonder if Vampires are any better then these humans...."

"Laguna....Not everyone is so bad. Do you see this evil in Carth? In myself?" She was shocked in what she heard from Laguna. She never knew someone to be so troubled. "There is much more evil in this city than there is good. Perhaps you've been unfortunate. But....I'm here. For what it's worth..."

Laguna pulled his scythe out of the concrete and spun it around his body in several arcs, the scythe gleaming beautifully. He then threw it into the air, caught it effortlessly, and hooked it onto his back. "As to your first statement, yes, I do; I sense it in everyone I meet, even myself. I've discovered that only a very rare few are pure-hearted and untainted by darkness. and as for your second comment, thank you, that means alot to me."
He extended a hand to her, his face a mask of professionalism and maturity.

"Laguna....I don't like this. You're acting so odd..." she frowned. She reached out and grabbed his hand, and shook it tentatively. For several seconds, she simply stared at him.
Why did the good ones always have to have the worst luck.
After the handshake, she held her arms open, expecting a hug. She stared firmly at him. If he wasn't going to hug her, she'd glomp him.
